Rincón de la Victoria


 

Rincón de la Victoria is a coastal town located on the eastern side of the province of Málaga, in the region of Andalusia, southern Spain.
The town is located on the Costa del Sol, about 12 kilometers east of the city of Málaga,
and is known for its beautiful beaches, historical heritage and lively atmosphere.

History

Rincón de la Victoria has a rich history dating back to prehistory,
as evidenced by archaeological finds such as the Cueva del Tesoro (Cave of the Treasure), one of the three known sea caves in the world.
During the Roman and Moorish rule, the area was an important center for trade and agriculture,
before it was conquered by the Catholic kings in the late Middle Ages.

Sightseeing and Activities

- Cueva del Tesoro:
The Cave of the Treasure, an impressive sea cave with stalactites and stalagmites,
and, according to legend, a treasure deep inside.

- Iglesia de Nuestra Señora del Carmen:
A Baroque church from the 17th century, located in the historic center of Rincón de la Victoria.

- La Cala del Moral:
A popular resort and fishing village, known for its beaches, promenade and traditional seafood restaurants.
